The BAI signed contracts for four, ten-year sound broadcasting services for Newstalk 106, Liffey Sound, Dublin City FM and Raidió na Life.
Speaking at the contract signings, Chief Executive of the BAI, Michael O’Keeffe, said: “The BAI is delighted to have signed contracts today with Newstalk 106, Liffey Sound, Dublin City FM and Raidió na Life. The different nature of each of the services being contracted with here today underlines the unique and distinctive voice that radio has in Ireland at a national, local and community level.
“Whether that service is offering speech-driven content that seeks to entertain, engage and challenge its audience; is a community radio service seeking to give a voice to those not served by mainstream broadcasting services; or is representing the interests of the geographic or language communities that it serves, each variously demonstrates the importance of good quality content and the principles of inclusion and representation.
“The BAI wishes each contractor continued success in serving their audiences and continuing to address the interests of the communities that they serve.”
The BAI was represented at the contract signings by the Chairperson, Pauric Travers and Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive.
