Declan Pierce to host dance show on Today FM
Former Classic Hits 4FM, FM104 and 2FM presenter Declan Pierce has joined Today FM to host a new dance and R&B show.
The new show, called Block Rockin Beats, is the first time the national Communicorp station has broadcast a specialist show of this genre, and it kicked off on Friday 13th October.
Declan told RadioToday: “The show is two hours of the very best classic dance and R&B anthems. The Prodigy, A Tribe Called Quest, Underworld, Chemical Bros, Faithless, The Streets, Missy Elliott, Moby & more! Songs that make the hairs on your arms stand on end!
“I want to take my passion for Old Skool dance, hip hop and R&B to the airwaves nationwide in Ireland on Today FM. When they asked me to join the station I jumped at the opportunity. I’m going back to my music roots with this show, and I’m very excited!”
Declan has previously worked at FM104 in 2000 and from 2002 to 2006. His radio CV also includes East Coast Fm, 98FM, Pulse FM and Juice FM in Liverpool, England. For the last two years he’s been at RTE 2FM.
