Midlands 103 Hospitality Awards honour more locals

Over 500 people celebrated the 2019 Midlands 103 Hospitality Awards at a gala event in Tullamore’s Bridge House Hotel.

Now in its second year, the event attracted over 8,000 votes in 56 categories.

The judging panel, featuring Sammy Leslie from Castle Leslie, Sallyanne Clarke from L’Ecrivain Restaurant and Eamonn Gillespie from Harvey’s Point, independently assessed a shortlist of nominees and agonised over each winner.

The five-star Heritage Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort in Killenard emerges as Overall Hotel of the Year, while Thyme in Athlone is the 2019 Best Restaurant.

Musical entertainment was provided by Dave Lalor and The Sheerin Family Band, with a selection of Midlands 103 personalities sharing MC duties.

Albert FitzGerald, Group Managing Director of Tindle Radio, is congratulating the winners: “We’ve enjoyed generous support from the Midlands Local Authorities and other loyal sponsors in making this event possible. There is no other showcase for the outstanding talent working in hospitality in our under-promoted region and we’re proud to shine a spotlight on them yet again. Onwards and upwards for next year.”
