Former pirate radio station Power FM is celebrating 21 years of existence tonight with a party night at The Grand Social in Dublin.
Power FM is one the longest running electronic and specialist music stations in Ireland playing soul, house, electro, jazz, jungle, techno, rock, boogie online at powerfm.org
The station broadcasts over 70 hours of live shows per week – all also available on demand – with local residents and international guests. The music is chosen entirely by the DJs.
Power FM began as a pirate station in 1993 where it had an impact on the Dublin music and club landscape before evolving to its present digital entity.
In 2009 the station broadcast on FM over 10 weeks to the Greater Dublin area on a temporary licence.
