Daniel O’Donnell to sing at Midwest bash

Midwest Radio has secured Daniel O’Donnell to sing at its 25th anniversary party in July.

The Co. Mayo-based station has also lined up Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Jimmy Buckley, Michael English, Trudi Lalor, John McNicholl, Patrick Feeney, Johnny Brady, Derek Ryan and Des Willoughby to perform at its “Night With The Stars”.

The event takes place on July 21st at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar as the station turns 25 on the 24th.

Midwest Radio is also producing a free full-colour 72-page Special Edition 25th Anniversary Commemorative magazine which will track the station’s broadcasting journey from the official opening in July 1989 through to the present day.

It will feature presenter profiles, accounts of some of the most memorable broadcasts in the past 25 years, personal memories and more. It will be packed with nostalgic articles and pictures that will paint a picture of the people behind the local radio station.

“With 35,000 free copies being distributed to householders around the West through both local press and numerous newsagents it will give thousands of people a unique insight into the faces, the personalities and the philosophies that worked in tandem to deliver Midwest Radio to a generation,” the station said.
