Four RTÉ 2FM presenters are going “off the playlist” for one-off special shows for Christmas 2014.
Explaining it in a blog post, daytime presenter Rick O’Shea says he “suggested to the boss that for Christmas 2014 he should allow a few 2FM presenters to put together some night-time shows with the brief that all the tunes are things you wouldn’t normally hear on the regular 2fm playlist”.
Despite his presumption that he’d “be told to feck off”, the boss (Dan Healy) actually went for it and the shows got the go-ahead.
Titled (as per O’Shea’s suggestion) “Not On The F&%£ing Playlist”, the shows will run for 4 nights, 8 to 10pm, as follows:
Monday December 29th: Rick O’Shea
Tuesday December 30th: Ciara King (from Chris & Ciara)
Wednesday December 31st: Keith Walsh (from Breakfast Republic)
Thursday January 1st: Louise McSharry
With regard to the show’s title, Rick simply said “Let’s see how they make the jingles for that one!”
