Local alternative music station for Dublin, 105.2 TXFM are holding The TXFM Alternative World Cup between 7am and 7pm all this week.
The station has selected 16 teams that are involved in the Rugby World Cup, and assigned each of them with songs from their own country, which will go head-to-head in groups of two; from 8am on TXFM Breakfast with Cathal Funge, 12pm on TXFM Daytime with Claire Beck at 5pm on TXFM Drive with Joe Donnelly.
On Friday 2 September, one song, and one country, will emerge victorious, and as there are prizes involved for the listeners too, the station say: “this is one for all to get involved, regardless if you follow Rugby, anyone who enjoys music can join in, so go on, give it a ‘try’!”
For the chance to win a A Tanglewood TW40DAN Sundance Acoustic Guitar worth over €500 and a pair of Monster Inspiration Noise Isolating Over-Ear Headphones worth €249, courtesy of Music Maker on Exchequer listeners just have to do is decide which song (and country) should reach the next stage, and which one goes home with the wooden spoon!
To take part, tune in to TXFM Breakfast each morning from 7am. All those who enter via text to 51052, will be entered into the draw.
