RTÉ reportedly suspend DJ for trying to sell station’s equipment

A member of RTÉ radio staff has been suspended after attempting to sell some of the station’s equipment, according to newspaper reports today.

The Irish Daily Mail reports that an RTÉ Radio DJ has been put on suspension after trying to sell audio equipment belonging to the station on classified ads web site DoneDeal.ie.

It’s reported that he has been asked to step aside from his position temporarily as the state broadcaster investigates the incident.

A source has apparently told the paper that the DJ put the “mixing table” on the auction site, mistakenly believing it to be his own.

The story, which appears on the front page of today’s Irish Daily Mail, says that while the DJ is not available for comment, his colleagues are “shocked”.
