Spin 1038 wants listeners to Fake Some Noise

Communicorp’s Spin 1038 has teamed up with the Marie Keating Foundation to raise money for the charity.

They want listeners to emulate their favourite rock star and Fake Some Noise as part of the new fundraising campaign.

During the first week of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the public is being asked to video themselves lip syncing to their favourite song, post it to social media, nominate three people and text MARIE to 50300 to donate €2 to the Marie Keating Foundation. All proceeds raised by the campaign will go towards the Marie Keating Foundation’s cancer services.

Speaking at the launch of the Fake Some Noise campaign, Nathan O’Reilly, Spin 1038 presenter, said, “Even if you can’t sing, you can definitely lip sync so turn up the radio, live out your rock star dream and support people who are struggling with cancer. Don’t forget to text to donate to the Marie Keating Foundation and then tag your friends and family in your social media posts so they can take their moment in the spotlight.”

Also speaking at the launch was Graham O’Toole. He said, “Nearly 40,000 people in Ireland are diagnosed with cancer every year so almost all of us know someone who has been affected. Fake Some Noise will help raise funds for the Marie Keating Foundation’s programmes and services such as its Comfort Fund for people struggling financially due to cancer, as well as its Survive & Thrive programme for men and women who are adjusting to life after cancer treatment. If we all share our lip sync magic with the world and donate €2 to this great cause, we can make a big impact.”

Jamie Crawford, CEO, Spin 1038 said, “Over 140,000 people tune into Spin 1038 every day and I’d be surprised if most of them did not sing along to their favourite hits so this is the perfect way for them to be lip sync legends while supporting the fight against cancer. All of the Spin team from DJs, producers, sound engineers and even myself will be sharing our Fake Some Noise videos from 3rd October. Whether it’s to Hozier, Miley Cyrus or even lip sync queen Britney Spears we hope everyone will join us by getting out their smart phone and creating some great videos in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation.”
